Local Partnership for Aquatic Ecosystem
Centre for Water Resources, Anna University joined hands with Centre for Sustainable Aquaculture in Erode Bhavanisagar for protecting water and fish in farm ponds through bird fencing and has also conducted an impact assessment of desilted minor irrigation tanks in Tamil Nadu region. Institute for Ocean Management, also part of Anna University, has a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Ministry of Environment, Forestry, and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) and is also a member of Andaman and Nicobar Coastal Zone Management. This partnership extends from the "Environmental Information System (ENVIS)" to the "Environmental Information, Awareness, Capacity Building, and Livelihood Programme (EIACP)" through 2026, with a focus on Coastal Zone Management and Coastal Shelter Belt. Key activities include outreach activities on environmental days, preparation of value-added information products, maintenance of the programme centre’s website, preparation of GIS maps and analytical reports with policy implications. The Institute also maintains a glossary section, collects updates on regulations, prepares special publications, hosts educational events, implements capacity-building programmes, and organizes Green Skill Development Programmes. Additionally, mass awareness campaigns are also conducted in alignment with Mission LiFE. This way Anna University as a body collaborates with the local community in efforts to maintain aquatic ecosystems.

Institute for Ocean Management
- ENVIS / EIACP - MOC between IOM, AU and MoEF&CC
The Institute for Ocean Management has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Ministry of Environment, Forestry, and Climate Change (MoEF&CC), Government of India, under the banner of “Environmental Information System (ENVIS)” from the financial year 2018 to 2020. Further, it was extended from the financial year 2020 to 2022. Now it is continued under the name “Environmental Information, Awareness, Capacity Building, and Livelihood Programme (EIACP)” from the financial year 2022 to 2026. IOM EIACP Programme Centre – Resource Partner of MoEF&CC collects and collates information and furnishes data or research papers on the assigned subject area, “Coastal Zone Management and Coastal Shelter Belt (CZM and CSB)”.
The major activities are agreed between MoEF&CC and IOM as follows:

- Conduct outreach programmes on important Environmental days.
- Preparation of other value-added information products on its assigned CZM & CSB.
- Maintenance and regular updation of Programme Centre's website.
- Development of descriptive / numerical databases including thematic and GIS maps on the assigned subject area that can be integrated with DRC and ensuring regular updation of the same.
- Preparation of at least one analytical report utilizing latest data on its assigned subject area bringing out policy implications on that subject, CZM and CSB.
- Development of glossary on the assigned CZM & CSB for uploading on DRC.
- Collection of latest news, rules and regulations issued by State and Central Governments on the assigned CZM & CSB for uploading on DRC.
- Preparation of special publications on its assigned CZM & CSB
- Conduct lectures, workshops, conferences etc on its assigned CZM & CSB.
- Conduct capacity building programmes approved by MoEF&CC.
- Conduct Green Skill Development Programme (GSDP) approved by MoEF&CC.
- Organise mass awareness campaigns and activities on Mission LiFE as per directions of MoEF&CC.
Member of Andaman and Nicobar Coastal Zone Management
Member of Andaman and Nicobar Coastal Zone Management Authority for regulating all developmental activities in the Coastal Regulation Zone areas specified under MOEFCC notification on 23.02.2022.
